‘Cats’ confirmed the Korean performance.
The musical ‘Cats’, which has been confirmed to perform in Korea with the original direction, will start at the Gimhae Culture Center in December, Sejong Arts Center, Busan Dream Theater in January 2023, and Sejong from January 20 to March 12 next year in Seoul. It will be performed for 7 weeks at the Grand Theater of the Cultural Center. The production of Jellicle cats freely appearing and appearing in the audience by breaking down the boundary between the stage and the audience is revived for the first time in five years since the 2017 performance, returning the charm of the original ‘Cats’ that the audience had been waiting for.

The 40th anniversary tour in 2020, which was performed under the pandemic, was changed to a direction to maintain the charm of the work while considering safety. It became a hot topic for directing that minimized the movement of actors in the audience and applied a makeup mask design designed for each character for the first time in the world. In this performance, even the audience turns into a stage, reviving the original production in which the actors appear freely.

A special poster was released along with the confirmation of the Korean performance. In line with this performance, which returns to the original production, where the charms of the Jellicle cats have been preserved, the magician cat Mr. Mistophelis has captured the scene in the performance as if he was inviting the audience to the mysterious festival of Jellicle cats that is held once a year.
