What is it?
[Editor’s Pick] is a monthly corner at the ‘Musical in Life’ blog specifically designed to promote certain musicals running during the current month.
Many works never reach the international audience (due to the lack of promotion or lack of translation among many), thus this corner was created to bring even the smallest productions to the hands of our kind readers from all over the world.
Readers might sometimes encounter ‘Editor’s note’, which is a specific addition by the Editor themselves if a warning or additional context is needed.
With that said, I hope our gentle readers will keep in mind these musicals are specifically picked by the Editor (FoQ), meaning perhaps your favourite musical might not make it in. It does not happen often, as we always try to include the highest possible number of works, but it is not impossible.
How did it come to be?
In June 2021, I was given the opportunity to spread my love for Korean musicals to an international audience in a monthly collection like this. The lovely @xiahgirl21 believed in me and my ideas to the extent I was given my own place and my own corner on a blog that technically did not immediately need any improvements.
I created what I was missing – I have not encountered anyone that specifically focused on creating a monthly summary of running musicals, which was a much-needed feature for the beginning stages of my journey.
Personally, it also gives me satisfaction to see them organized by the month and happiness by informing our readers of smaller works they perhaps have not encountered before.
