A creative musical produced by MJStarfish had its first premiere in 2011 and returns reborn to theatres after a decade for new a season this year.

La Révolution tells a story of three double-role characters: Léon (HongKyu), Pierre (WonPyo) and Marianne (SeoDo) during the French Revolution (1789) and Korea’s Gapshin Coup (1884) from the Joseon Dynasty. As the narrative of these two revolutions intertwines, tension arises and even love unfolds.

Among many other talented actors working on this musical, South Korean figure skater Lee JunWoo (also known as JuneHyoung) made his musical debut as Pierre (WonPyo). He is a three-time South Korean national champion, along with being the first male South Korean figure skater to win gold at ISU (International Skating Union) events.

This is another musical produced by MJStarfish, as well as another example of all actors being cast into double roles, which transgress boundaries of gender. The 2021 season is a reenactment of the 2019 premiere and encore.

Pirates tells of adventure where Lewis, son of a pirate, finds a treasure map between his dead father’s belongings and persuades Captain Calico Jack, his father’s supposed friend, to look for the treasure on the Rose Island with him. On their way to the island they meet Mary and Anne, however, trouble soon arises as they are not the only hunters around.

This musical is a Korean adaptation based on an actual labour movement in the coal mining village of Harlan County, USA, as well as the ‘Harlan County, USA’ 1976 movie by Barbara Kopple. Terrible conditions underground mixed with hard labour might just turn a man into a slave; this musical is filled with the struggles and cries of men against the tyranny of oppressing mining company.

A creative musical by New Production presents Oscar Wilde, Alfred Douglas, and Robert Ross struggling to achieve freedom between art and reality. Wilde finalizes his only novel The Picture of Dorian Gray despite the censorship obstacles in Victorian London, though according to Ross not with the best ending. Disappointed and dishearted about his beloved character’s death, Ross wonders around until a mysterious man that strangely resembles Dorian appears in front of him.

Another beloved work from the production of Page 1 and R&D Works marked  its “10+1 Anniversary” this year (as due to circumstances the 10th-anniversary last year could not have been celebrated properly). Mama, Don’t Cry is a two-person drama complemented by distinct rock sound, that tells the story of Professor V, unable to talk to the woman he loves, travels back in time and meets charismatic Count Dracula. Professor V falls under the vampiric charm of confidence and decides to become a vampire himself, but such transformation does not come without a price.
