A reenactment of the 2018 Company Series (컴퍼니 연작에서) musical will be starting its new series this November. Set in 1930s London, Arthur Cowfield, a vampire that does not even have fangs, lives in a mansion along with his human butler John. Arthur, who never knew any other human and only learned of the world through books has his life turned upside down. Emma, a human girl who quit her job and ran away from the police, hid near the mansion and upon their accidental meeting asks Arthur to hire her. As they spend time together the oblivious vampire and an unusual human girl unlike any in his books begin to change. The curiosity and change to the extent it slowly starts to worry John.

A premiere of a brand new musical this time by Kontentz Planning! Staying on the brand of an Italian theme often found in their musicals, Ending Note tells a tragic story of two Italian boys that immigrated to New York in the 1950s hoping to live a better life while dreaming the American dream. In an unfamiliar country, living in a shabby house without money – the reality is daunting and scary but the two brothers, Alfie and Eddie, never lose hope. Through the mysterious being “A” that appears, the brothers suddenly have to face the reality they have tried to avoid for so long.

Orchard Musical Company is introducing a new musical this month! 칠칠 is a fictional story based on the painter Choi Buk who lived during the reign of King SukJong, Joseon Dynasty.

Although Choi Buk is a master of landscape paintings, he is an eccentric man that often tears up sold paintings during his travels. Due to his continuous travels, everyone but one person leaves him – his only friend MumYeong. One day Buk leaves to Mt.GeumGang to paint his masterpiece, where he also ponders over the past he neglected. After he returns to Hanyang he is visited by WonJun, who wishes to purchase his painting. As a payment for it, Wonjun starts a story …

As we continue the theme of brand-new musicals, Double K Film & Theater is introducing its 4th original work of the 2021 Double K Dream Project. Night on the Galactic Railroad is a creative musical based on a classic Japanese fantasy novel by the same name from Kenji Miyazawa, written around 1927 and posthumously published in 1934. 

Giovanni, a blind boy, struggles to balance hard life with school work and his part-time job after his father’s disappearance. After 7 years the Milky Way Festival is held again and his childhood friend Campanella proposes to go together. Giovanni refuses at first, but after a while, he changes his mind and climbs up the hill where the festival is held. He loses his sense of direction between all the laughing and gossiping visitors until Campanella comes to help him and they both enjoy the festival together. Suddenly Giovanni loses consciousness and wakes up in Galaxy Express 999 with Campanella as the conductor of the Galactic Train. Giovanni has no way of knowing whether his friend’s words are true or fiction but he soon starts to enjoy the atmosphere of the peaceful train ride. As they pass station after station meeting different people, little by little he begins to understand this mysterious journey and unveils the secrets behind his father’s disappearance.

Laundry is an original Korean musical first premiered in 2016 by Myongrang Theatre and is often said to be the sequel of the musical Subway Line 1. Coincidently, this year on its 25th anniversary it is performed in the very same theatre where Subway Line 1 was shown before. It expresses the ordinary daily life of townspeople in the 2000s on the outskirts of Seoul. The heartwarming portrayal of their stories touched the hearts of the audience and secured the musical numerous awards.
