The popular musical ‘Rebecca’ opens on November 16th at the Chungmu Art Center Grand Theater.
The musical “Rebekah” is a stage work of thriller master Alfred Hitchcock’s film of the same name, and has been loved every season for its romance and reversal suspense centered on growing female characters, and its spectacular stage that increases intense music and the tension of the play.
The work, which premiered at the Reimund Theater in Vienna, Austria in 2006, has since been translated and performed in a total of 10 languages, with a total of 830,000 visitors and an average audience share of 98% at the end of the year for a total of 687 performances from the premiere in Korea in 2013 to the fifth season in 2019.
The work, which was upgraded to match the Korean sentiment at the time of its premiere in Korea, was praised by the original authors Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levay, saying, “The Korean stage is the best in the world.” The 7th The Musical Awards’ Director Award, as well as the Stage Award, Lighting Award, and Sound Award, in five key categories.
Expectations are high who will be the protagonist of ‘Rebecca’, which will come back at the end of 2021. The musical ‘Rebecca’, which marks its sixth season this year, will open at the Chungmu Art Center Grand Theater on November 16th and will be held for three months until February 27 next year.
