Interpark, the nation’s largest booking site for performances, announced the ranking of popularity in musicals, plays, concerts, classical/opera and dance/traditional arts sectors as it settled the performance market.

The ranking was set based on the sales quantity and amount criteria for each of the five genres, and is the result of summing up all sales from the Interpark Ticket Web, Mobile, Telephone, Global and Alliance Channels from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2019. Even the same works were added separately if the region and concert hall were different.

2019 musical genre analysis.

The theater and dance/traditional art genres remained unchanged from the previous year, recording 29.7 billion won for the play and 10.4 billion won for the dance/traditional art.

Yoon Hee-jin, head of the concert consulting team at Interpark, said, “The year 2011 was a success for traditional live strongmen, including BTS, which is driving the popularity of K-pop, as well as Psy, Lee Seung-hwan and Park Hyo-shin, who returned to solo concerts after a long time.
