Musical The Days is celebrating its 10th anniversary! As a special event for this occasion, an online exhibition hall has been opened from April 4 on the Insight Entertainment website, where the reader can find the musical’s 10-year history, guest book or special information of its opening days.

The Days is a jukebox-style creative musical made from famous songs sung by the late Kim KwangSeok. With the Blue House as a setting, we find ourselves with two parallels, the present and the past: a government cover-up of secret diplomatic ties between Korea and China, and a mysterious disappearance of a man and a woman from 20 years ago.

A creative musical that premiered in 2022 through competition in the CJ Cultural Foundation’s ‘Stage Up’ creative group category. It contains only two characters: ‘A’ and ‘B’. In reality of questions that cannot be escaped, ‘B’ appears in front of ‘A’ with a proposal that can change their life. As time goes on, ‘B’s actions become more and more daring until ‘A’ develops feelings. They decide to escape reality together but will they go backwards or look towards the future? In the infinite sound of the waves, will ‘A’ be able to start a new life?

One of the most famous musicals, Mozart!, is back with its 7th season since its premiere in 2010. It is a musical depicting the biography of genius composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart divided into two parts: the ordinary human ‘Wolfgang Mozart’ and the genius ‘Amadeus’. The 2023 edition has been revamped quite a bit: after the first season of Beethoven, it seems EMK has decided to utilize its know-how to create a better version of Mozart! 


Musical ‘Memphis’

For this first time in Korea, a grand opening for Memphis as a licensed musical will take place this month. It premiered for the first time in the USA in 2002 and was composed by David Bryan, well-known keyboardist of the legendary American rock band Bon Jovi.
This musical is a retelling of the life DJ Dewey Philips led against the backdrop of 1950s Memphis, Tennessee torn apart by segregation laws. Huey, a young black man, one day wanders into an underground club in the ‘black section’ of the city. After he hears Felicia’s songs, the sister of the club owner, he becomes determined to promote her songs, rock ‘n’ roll, and the ‘black music’. He infiltrates a white-only radio station and while the DJ isn’t looking, he puts on rock and roll, fascinating teenagers who immediately begin to call in, asking what kind of music it is. Huey is given a two-week tryout period as the new DJ of the radio…
