Musical ‘The Little Prince’

An HJ Culture creative musical classic is back with its 4th season! Based on most likely the most famous piece of literature by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, this musical remains faithful to its source and is sure to warm up the heart of anyone who appreciates this immortal story. A man makes an emergency landing in the desert and meets a boy, the Little Prince, who was looking for a friend. He teaches the man valuable lessons, slowly makes him understand that the essential is invisible to the eye and can only be seen with the heart. A prince from a planet slightly larger than a house introduces a rose with four thorns, various strange adults, a snake and a fox through stories hidden in the desert like an oasis for the mind. This story and its musical adaptation are for our dear Readers who were once children.

Sneaking a peek in her mother’s old diaries, she discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill, and Harry. She secretly invites all three to the wedding, convinced that she’ll know her father when she sees him. But when all three turn up, it may not be as clear as she thought! Told through the legendary music of ABBA, Mamma Mia! has become a worldwide sensation that has audiences everywhere dancing. (Source)

A lovely creative musical first produced by MJ Starfish and from 2019 owned by Kontentz Planning, now on its 3rd season. Based on some of the most famous pirates that lived during the Golden Age of Piracy of the 18th century, we meet Louis, the son of a pirate, who swore to write down this story as a legacy for his beloved captain. Captain Calico Jack visits Louis’ house, inquiring whether Caleb, his father and Jack’s crewmate, came back from their last voyage. Unfortunately, the only thing left is his name engraved on the tombstone, along with a few belongings. Upon discovering one of these belonging is actually a treasure map leading to Rose Island, Louis insists he will not give up the map unless he can be part of the crew. Captain Jack has no choice but to bring the young man with him to travel on the terrifying but thrilling sea. On their way, a strangely beautiful gunman Anthony and ‘Poseidon’ Marco join their crew, much to the displeasure of Jack’s former mentor and current crewmember Howard. At the end of the long voyage, Jack’s ship faces crisis after crisis, on top of an already brewing mutiny. No one could have expected the horrors hidden on Rose Island, not even the captain himself. One never knows how people change when faced with treasure …

It tells the story of Sinclair, an aspiring assistant writer, who visits the office of Eugene Kim, the author of the best-selling mystery novel Death of a Doll. A boy who unknowingly cuts himself to pieces to survive committed a murder in the name of love. Ten years later, he commits another in the name of guilt. That’s how the interview of the two men looking for the real culprit of the murder 10 years ago begins.

A creative musical previously under Shinswave is once again back with its 4th season since tryouts in 2017. Last season this musical enjoyed international attention thanks to month-long online streaming available without geo-block. Based on a novel of the same name by Kim Dong-In (김동인), it tells the story of ‘genius’ composer J, who made a grand debut with his sonata and won the infamous Gloria Artis award. Despite all the praise, after that night he was unable to compose a single piece even under the tutelage of the renowned professor, K. Day by day he was met with cold evaluation and failure, growing more anxious, fearing he might be forgotten by the musical world. One night, intoxicated J gets to witness a vivid death right in front of his very eyes and suddenly the first movement of his sonata is completed. A piece of music created overnight stained with the groans of a man hit by a car. If you met someone who is a genius but at the same time a serial killer, would you shun him? Or encourage him? Nothing can be obtained without a price …

A beloved Orchard Musical Company musical based on a novel by classical author Fyodor Dostoyevsky is back for another season. For the fourth time since its debut in 2018, this musical, which consists mostly of piano music and vocals, brings the world of four brothers to life. Dmitri, the eldest from the first marriage, Ivan and Alyosha, sons of the second wife, and illegitimate son and servant Smerdyakov. Their father, a Russian landowner and lustful man is one day murdered and his money stolen. Was it the one that quarrelled over inheritance and love? The one who disdained the words of his father and left for Moscow despite knowing what might happen? The apprentice monk who tried to deny his bloodline? Or the servant filled with hatred for all but one? The brothers begin to doubt each as each becomes the suspect in the horrible crime.

Legendary musical most Broadway fans know by heart is being performed in Korea for the very first time! Six is a modern retelling of the lives of Henry VIII’s six wives: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr. They have come together as a band to stage a pop concert and invite the audience to hear their stories. They cannot decide who should be the lead singer, so they initiate a competition, or singing battle, to see who suffered the most as Queen. Each wife believes they had it toughest and they belittle each other’s attempts to prove their hardship. However, they become frustrated that their place in history is defined by one man. Together, they decide to pick up the pen and the microphone, and re-write their own stories. They are more than a rhyme, more than a wife, and much more than one King could handle. (Source)

Musical ‘Secret Garden’

A brand new creative musical is having its premiere this month! Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett’s novel by the same name, it tells a story set in 1950s England. At the St. Anthony’s Orphanage, once every half a year, there is an ‘open day’ where adults who wish to adopt a child can come visit. Some are excited and some despair, thinking in vain nobody will want kids like them. One little girl suggests playing a fun game and picks up The Secret Garden, a book worn out after so many curious minds read through it in the past. Each child takes a role and becomes immersed in the story. Mary, Deacon, Colin and Martha in the novel, while in the reality Amy, Beagle, Charlie and Deborah continue playing at the orphanage. Time flies and the open day suddenly becomes brighter.

Musical ‘Red Book’

A creative musical from the creators of The Goddess is Watching is back, 4 years after its premiere. Red Book is set in Victorian London and tells the story of Anne who breaks up with her fiancé and leaves for the city. She reminisces about her first love while living day-to-day life, until a mysterious man named Brown approaches her with a first-class ticket to the high-class literature society only for women. Anne begins her writing journey, though with difficulty, as her stories are not what one would expect in the conservative Victorian era.
